Just a few weeks ago the TBV Team was on the scene at @nconscene's Networking Pop Up on 11/14. While there we met some talented creatives all hoping to make new connections and get their products/services out there. We had the pleasure to get to know the vendors and wanted to shout them out too. From fashion designers, to skin care, and even an on site alcoholic treat maker, the Pop Up Shop showcased just how remarkable Black Excellence can be in real time.

The Hosts
We first heard of the event from the Founder of @nconscene, Paige, on Instagram. This was her second Pop Up this year and after taking in feedback from her previous fair that showcased 8 vendors, she was excited to bring black creatives together once again. For this month's event - she had recruited 20 vendors. @nconscene aims to support local entrepreneurs by helping them be "seen." She offers small business tips, connecting people through her social media "hub," and hosts events, like the Pop Up Shop, to allow businesses to not only promote their product but meet future collaborators and customers as well.
After the success and energy from the 11/14, Paige is already working on her December Pop Up, Ugly Christmas Edition.

The Vendors
Gi got to talk to so many different entrepreneurs from so many different walks of life. We got to meet owners of apparel brands, jewelry makers, accessory brands, consultants, chefs, life coaches, luxury picnic event planners, the list is endless. Here are just some of what these amazing people had to offer!
Apparel brands are common at Pop Up Shops, since the fashion industry basically coined the idea. We met some dope brands that take their message and purpose to new heights through their own clothing. We talked to Mizfit Attire and how they wanted to take high end boutique culture and make it stand out with bold styles. Al, from Affiliated Apparel talked to us about being an educator by day, fashion mogul by night, oh and occasionally moonlighting as a Big and Tall model too! Alesia, CEO of the Rough Diamond Empire, combined her Consulting Agency with a lifestyle brand for a crazy two-piece business model. We also caught up with athletic brands FitFresh and Checkedin, as they both told us how mindset is everything when it comes to active gear. All of these brands were a pleasure to connect with, and it was great seeing them get their products in the hands of supporters in the area - a retail win for sure.

Besides the expected pop up shop vendors, some of the artisans on display really honed in our their niches. Some of the vendors had speciality hand made lashes, seasonings, CBD-infused beard products, personalized luxury picnic experiences, to go cocktails, and even good ol' fashioned cooking. The list is endless.
